the topic for my speech today is “festival.” i would like to talk about myfavorite festival, the mid-autumn festival.

in china we have several important festivals, such as the spring festival,the lantern festival, the dragon-boat festival and the mid-autumn festival.among them, i like mid-autumn festival best, especially because i live inxiamen.

in xiamen, when we celebrate the mid-autumn festival, we do not only followthe common practices such as having a big dinner party with our family, eatingmooncakes, and appreciating the full moon at night, we also have one uniquecustom which is only practiced in xiamen, that is “bo bing”.

“bo bing” is a very interesting game that almost all xiamen people playduring this festival. usually family members or close friends get togetheraround a table with a big round bowl in the middle and six dices in the bowl. wetake turns to throw the dices into the bowl. we will get different prizesaccroding to the different ways the dices show their upper sides. everyone islikely to become the champion or “zhuangyuan” for the year. there is an elementof luck and equal opportunity in this game. so people usually get excited whileplaying. also, the game gives very pleasant sounds. the tinkling made by thedices falling into the bowl is pleasant, people’s laughing, cheering andapplauding for the big prizes they’ve won is pleasant. all this adds greatly tothe joyful atmosphere of this festival. as a kid, of course i also like thematerial prizes i get from the game, such as a candy or a cake.

in this year’s mid-autumn festival, my family invited our foreign friendsto come to our home to celebrate the festival together. they have two childrenwho are younger than me. while our parents were making jiaozi together, we kidsplayed “bo bing”. we bought quite some gifts to share with our guests as theirprizes.they enjoyed the game and our get-together very much.

the literal translation of “bo bing” is “mooncake gambling.” but actuallyit is not gambling, at least our family never plays it that way. for us, it ismore an occasion of happy sharing and getting-together. this is why xiamen’smid-autumn festival has become my favorite festival in the year.

那些人抓到黑熊后，在黑熊的胆上开一个大口子，伸一个塑料管子到熊胆里，每天从熊胆里抽取胆汁，而可怜的黑熊，由于受到塑料管的阻碍，伤口永远不能愈合，时间一长，伤口四周就会腐烂发臭，黑熊就要忍受巨大的痛苦。等黑熊年纪大了，胆汁分泌的少了，人们就直接取出熊胆，甚至把熊掌也给割下来，再高价卖给熊胆收购商，可怜的黑熊则会被扔到荒郊野外，人们再也不管他的死活。

还有的厂家为了生产出最肥美的鹅肝，就把鹅关在一个很小的铁笼子里，为了防止鹅过多运动，减少脂肪，所以那个笼子只能让鹅站着或蹲着，连转个身都不行，有的鹅甚至一生都不能踏出笼子一步。

人们为了更好地满足自己的欲望，而全然不顾动物们的感受，为了得到珍贵的熊胆汁和美味的肥鹅肝，他们发明了一种种工具，自以为很了不起，实际上是在对动物进行着一种残酷的折磨。

同学们，你们能想象那黑熊被伤口的疼痛折腾得死去活来的样子吗;你们能想象白鹅被囚禁在笼子里寸步难移的样子吗;你们能想象黑熊被割掉熊掌之后痛苦不堪的样子吗;你们能想象白鹅从出生到老死都不能走动一步的样子吗。

所以，我呼吁大家都来保护动物，不让坏人虐待、伤害他们，让人类和动物和谐相处，成为好朋友吧!

there is a wonderful word which expresses the most original motions anddesires among human-beings. with solving any kind of imperfections, our worldhas moved ahead. this is the word “innovation” that we cannot afford tolose.

we chicaned every detail of the innovation. thousands years before, wecreated fire when we took a stone to knock another one. since han dynasty, fourgreat inventions had been created and it is one of the greatest signs that chinabecome to the ancient civilized country. and nowadays, thousands of software,products, architectures and public facilities have upgraded more than that about100 years ago. so how did these happen? what will you do if you are notsatisfied with your tools anymore? what will you do if old mode cannot afford todevelop in a company? there is no doubt that we should innovate no matter wherewe are and what we do. not because of the design itself, but actually for itsintended purpose.

if there was no apple, everyone could not imagine how to contact otherseasily and enjoy a better internet surfing.

if there was no microsoft, perhaps we still worked in a dim office andduplicate some troublesome documents. if there was no newton, and no theory ofgravity, maybe i will win the nobel prize like newton rather than just standinghere. i have heard that three apple changed the world. the first one seducedeve. the second one awakened newton. the third one was in the hands of stevejobs. we sort of think the innovation of the world began with apple. i imaginelots of people want to become another newton or jobs right now with just onehand to change the world, right? have the innovation to follow your heart. itsomehow already reflects what you truly want to become. everything else issecondary.

via questioning, we can start to innovate. via innovating, we can start tocreate better lives. no innovation, no improvement. no improvement, no success.and no success, no civilization. now, our time is limited, so don't waste itliving someone else's life! don't let the noise of others' opinions drown outyour own inner voice! don't let yourself down! it is the innovation that wecannot afford to lose!

大家好!每个家庭中都会有一个伴随小朋友成长的忠诚伙伴。我家曾经有一只活泼可爱的小花狗，只可惜它不在了，永远离开了人类，离开了我。我一直想念着它，想它的活泼，想它的可爱，想它的调皮。

自从我刚刚生下来，这只小花狗就每天盯着我，贴着墙边偷偷来看我。小时候，我不记事，许多事情都是姥姥讲给我听的。渐渐地，我长大了，记事了，姥姥告诉我，那只小花狗叫“板凳”。因为它总是钻到板凳下面睡觉觉。

板凳伴随着我度过了是个春夏秋冬。每个季节都留下了它的很急，即使它已经不在了，可我依旧能找到它的气息。每个季节，它都会给我留下一个深刻的印象。

姥姥告诉我，板凳刚生下来的时候，毛是浅黄色的，一对眯起的小眼睛，一排还没长齐的乳牙。我6岁那年，上幼儿园回来，我看见一条小黑狗在欺负板凳，板凳生性善良，从不愿和别人打架。我忍无可忍了，怎么能让板凳任人欺凌呢?它是一只有主人的狗，它的主人有义务保护它。我冲了上去，把小黑狗吓跑了。我摸着板凳的额头，说：“别怕，别怕，有我呢。我不会再让别人欺负你了!”板凳开心的围着我转圈圈。就这样，我把板凳领回了屋里。

板凳虽然很调皮，但是调皮的可爱。它从不偷吃，姥姥把刚收拾好的鱼放在外面，准备一会炖。我趴在窗户上，观看者板凳头没偷吃。板凳看了看鱼，丝毫不动。它好像知道，主人的鱼，未经允许是不能动的。我见板凳如此听话，我打开门。从盆里拿出一个骨头，丢在院子里，示意让他啃。虽然狗听不懂人类的话，但它经常听，也明白了。

俗话说：“动物是人类的好朋友，它和人类之间是很有灵气的。”上了小学，我渐渐也长大了，但还是童心未泯。经常和板凳玩捉迷藏，板凳和我玩捉迷藏的时候，总是露出一个尾巴。我瞧瞧跑向前去，抓住了它。可抓错了，是个纯黄的鸡毛掸。我生气了，板凳摇摇尾巴，向我示好，希望我别生气、我看着它，忍不住“呵呵”直笑。
